Sports in High School “Senior year is for the tears, facing the fears, loudening the cheers. You find out how close you are to some, and how far away you are from others. You’ll have your lasts and get ready for the firsts. Then look back on it and remember it forever” (Pinterest). This quote sums up senior year in just forty-eight words. Senior year will have a huge impact on my life and future. However, there are so many different people and events throughout all of high school that have had a significant impact on my life. Without those people and events that have happened, I would not be who I am today. However, there is one thing that has had the biggest impact on my life over everything else besides my family: sports. Sports have been one of the most important things in my life throughout high school. It has taught me so different lessons that I cannot possibly explain …show more content…
Every time we leave the huddle we say “toughness” because we always have to remind ourselves that toughness wins games. Last year, I had to have a lot of toughness not to give up during the season because of the practices and games. The practices were so hard on me because I had to go up against guys who were three and five inches taller than me. I worked so hard, and I felt like I was going to pass out every practice. I had to have physical toughness to stay with it and work my hardest, even though I was miserable. I worked my hardest, but I still sat the bench for most of the time. I was very angry because I worked so hard, but I still had no time on the court during games. I had to have a lot of mental toughness to stay with it and continue to make myself and my teammates better in practice. My toughness paid off for this year, though. Basketball was definitely a trying time for me, but my toughness got me through it. I know that the trials I had to go through with basketball will help me so much in the
