The dream of being that one in a million motivates students to achieve their educational goals. These goals are hindered by those who believe that sports have no room in schools. There are organizations “fighting to prevent cuts in school-sponsored extracurricular activities such as band, debate and the arts.” So, “why are sports on the chopping block when these other elements of a well-rounded education need to be preserved?” Students cannot be made to like a particular activity, like the debate team. Each individual chooses their own likes and dislikes. By only cutting sports you limit the amount of students that can participate in extracurricular activities. By allowing students to participate in their choice of activity they are given a reason to further their
