According to the article, “there are many ways, sports represent the very best of the human spirit and yet, some many find it odd to suggest a connection between sports and spirituality, as though these are two completely distinct facets of human life with very little in common, if anything at all” (Sports and Spirituality, 2012). It is said that when talking about spirituality, there is more focus on kung fu, tai chi, or some other martial art that we can see overlap between the sport and spirituality., How does spirituality connect with to do with modern western sports for instance, football, softball, baseball or basketball? Since martial arts, kung fu etc. are considered a sport which link to spirituality, why not the modern western sports; is it because of where they originated from. We should not be thinking that way because the human mind and spirit are involved in something a person is passionate about within their own space and community.
