Following, participants are instructed to recall a time when they had been betrayed by a parent or primary caregiver. Participants are then taken into the experimental room with a blood pressure cuff to view a video of tropical fish and soft music for 10 minutes. Following the video researchers gave participants the betrayal interview. After the interview participants complete the Act of Forgiveness Scale and the TRIM Inventory. Once completed researchers permit participants a 7 minute recovery time period before given the brief structured interview.
