Failed leadership
The beliefs and actions of a leader will cast a shadow influencing the behaviors and outcomes. If the leadership in the hospital does not fully embrace the concept of a Healing Hospital neither will the staff.
Biblical Aspects Chapman (2005) uses the concepts of the biblical teachings through three symbols illustrating the concept of Radical Love. This trinity of values represents the conviction that Gods work is the driving force between the balance between medical advancements and the needs of the human spirit (Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, 2015). The three intertwined symbols include;
Golden Thread. Represents the faith in God and the belief that then intent of the hospital and care givers are toward healing and not reducing our care to transactions.
Intersecting Circles. Represents human need and the care that we should provide. This is intended to instill hope through loving behaviors.
