The modern world is full of establishments where the everyday person can go to to get themselves entertained. It is part of human nature to not only survive, but to live as well. So many businesses exist in the entertainment industry because of this reason, surviving is boring but living is fun, especially when you can have fun doing it. Despite this, going to these establishments to simply get rid of boredom would not be enough to keep them running. No, humans are social animals and thus must be able to interact with others. It has become the norm to only go to locations centered on entertaining the masses only if one is not going alone. Many of these groups were made up of family members who wanted to get closer. One such group was a lone father who was there with his uninterested daughter and two enthusiastic sons. The father was buying the children what they wanted from the snack bar and was trying very hard to make his daughter participate more in the conversation he was having with the sons. Although forced, the theater was chosen so that the father could spend more time with his children and have a common topic, such as the movie they were going to watch, to discuss and grow closer. There are all these cries about how “technology is destroying human interaction” or something similar, when really, it helps bring us together. Movie theater are one such, relatively new advancement. Sure, theaters themselves are nothing new, but they keep getting better and better. From one man acts to hours long performances, these structures were created to serve humanity. But, not only that, but to bring people closer together, to bridge gaps, and to just simply feel something. Which goes back to the original point. These advancements are brought about for human improvement, for social improvement, for interaction and enjoyment. Movie theaters are just one of many structures created for this purpose, but it is so very important for socializing amongst people that we care about and that care about us. We pick these establishments, not only for the movie, but to be around others and get a healthier mentality. The memories that were made in those few hours that were spent away from everyday life. Whether the movie was a masterpiece or something akin to an Adam Sandler film, it is the time spent in the company of people close to us, that really make the whole trip worth the time. Socializing in a movie theater leaves one with a lighter air and, often times, good memories, it is no wonder that this the norm and that loners need not
