This is one of the top priorities to know because that way if the client ever gets to the point where they are not able to make decisions for themselves the doctor will know who to ask for medical decisions. The medical will lets you know if they want to have everything done possible to keep them alive or to just let them go. These are critical decisions that are extremely important to know about someone that way the doctor fulfills their wishes and does not go against them. Such as if a person starts to slowly not breathe anymore and a doctor tries to bring them back when they were a D.N.R, the doctor can get into serious trouble. Also, any other information about the patients’ medical care is important as well. The second thing to review over with the patient is where they will be living. Will they be living in their home or with a family member? If so, will they have all the proper care that they need especially if their family member has to go to work, will they have a caretaker come in and help with all their needs. Will the patient be living in an assisted home or a nursing home? All those are important to figure out with the patient because having the proper care for their condition is very
