Social media is a trending resource of various types of communication. There are different online communities that connect people who are next to each other to those who are all over the world. In today’s society, it is hard to find an individual who does not have a social media account, whether it is Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Social media is used to get through to so many people in an immediate approach. Aside from connecting with people, social media is now been publicized in politics. (Treuren) Barack Obama was a profound leader by using social media as a platform for the 2008 Presidential Election. He won his election by getting his message through to so many people because of social media. (Carr) After all, social media is a …show more content…
I am not the person to browse through different web pages or watch the news to find out what is taking place throughout the world. Because of social media, my political awareness has increased tremendously. I obviously know that the Presidential Election is currently the biggest political subject. The two candidates, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are all over the different social networking sites, mainly Twitter. I believe with trending topics, talking the same language as the audience, and going live on social networking sites, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton should have a successful campaign. Donald Trump has had some of the wildest tweets before he even decided to run for President of the United States and during the election. As an active reader of his tweets, I cannot quite see how people are keen on voting for Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton also has her set of inappropriate tweets herself, but her tweets do not compare to the absurdness of Donald …show more content…
It is important for campaign leaders to communicate in the same style as their audience. Let’s face it; there might be more uneducated people on different social communities as to the more educated. The campaign has to find the perfect middle in order to connect with the readers. A person can portray any post completely different than the author intended the post to mean. Donald Trump sure has a way with 140 characters on Twitter. He speaks his own language that not everyone can understand. In April of 2015, Donald Trump deleted a tweet that stated, “If Hillary Clinton can’t satisfy her husband, what makes her think she can satisfy America? @realDonaldTrump #2016president.” (Borislow) No matter if a tweet is deleted, a person can screenshot or find a way to reproduce a tweet as if it was never deleted. That was a bad part on Donald Trump, who is derogatory to his opposing candidate. His twitter account has more outrageous tweets, which are not beneficial to his presidential campaign. As for Hillary Clinton, she tries to reach the younger audience with her tweets. For instance, she tweets a picture of Social Icon - Kim Kardashian, Musical Mogul - Kayne West, and herself. These two are praised all over the worldwide web for their relationship. There is not a single person who does not know who those two people are. Hillary Clinton seems as if she wants to be “one of the cool

What once started out as an innocent social networking site has become a central gathering place for politics. Now, it is where the conversation is taking place—everyone related to politics, including journalists, editors, pundits, lobbyists and television producers, is on twitter making news, when their job is to solely interpret the news. Even though a majority of journalists use twitter, is it an imperfect political medium because each tweet is limited to 140 characters, which discourages deep and analytical thinking. Not to mention, twitter has created a new type of journalism where embeds no longer have a filter or an editor that allows them to separate campaign noise from the news, essentially turning the campaign noise into news that voters pay attention to. As result, the only principle that twitter journalists believe in is speed ; in trying to be the first to capture the news or be a part of the news, they forget accuracy and depth, and make today’s political coverage more shallow and trivial.…
