“Don’t use social media to impress people, use it to impact people“ (David Willis). Social media and the way others communicate through social media are good for society because it spreads information faster than any other media. Social media offers ways for musicians and artist to build an audience even if they do not have a corporate contract. Social media has changed the way we live our lives and affected how nearly every industry does business, they use it to stay informed and when needed to be contacted they are able to receive it through social media. Business uses these platforms to build and create their own brands. It helps businesses create websites for their company and contact the public with what their company is about. Yasmin Bendror states “ Businesses that use social media as part of a planned corporate approach are 1.5 to 2 times more likely to anticipate revenue growth than ad hoc users.” Yasmin also says “ They now have the ability to reach out and communicate on a personal level with their target audience on a daily basis.” This demonstrates that industries are able to communicate with the right audience when needed through social media. Also the industries that actually use social media as a plan on how to become popular are more likely to act upon their growth unlike an ad hoc user which do not intend to be able to adapt. J.J McCorvey says “ social networks enable companies to invite audiences to get to know its brand in a way that traditional forms of marketing or advertising can’t.” This means that social networks allow companies to share their brand and gain an audience. Companies are able to advertise their brands by posting it up through the media, they are able to market them and explain what the brand is, what it does, and how it is useful for society. Companies communicate their brands by sharing it worldwide and making customers/ audience. Alan B. Albarran states “ Business models found among the social media industries and social media as a form of marketing.” This shows businesses see social media in a way to sell their products. Social media allows information to be spread fast, authorities use it. With technology now things are able to be spread worldwide within minutes of it happening. Industries are also into using social media to help build their growth and popularity. They are able to advertise and have customers and workers spread the word about how good the company is through social networks like twitter, facebook. Instagram, ect. Social media also helps artists and musicians start their career. All it takes is for a musician to post a video or an autotune online to gain fans and get noticed, and for an artist they can simply upload a picture or make a video on what they create and gain popularity. Social media and the ways people communicate through it is good for society it has become a big impact worldwide. Without social media things wouldn 't be able to spread as fast without the technology we have now. Before social media existed people depended on phone call, the news, and newspapers.
