The increase of using social media by public relations practitioners is a relatively recent trend. Social media tools are offer the opportunity and challenge to reach diverse audiences in new ways. Social media represent an emerging venue for public relations communication. A few companies and organizations have made strides in exploiting this channel. Social media for many companies are still very much a young endeavour. When people combine to take a baby steps in social media with equal baby steps which people might be taking in media. Social media marketing is marketing in online medium that are easy, quick, and cheap. The perception of social media marketing, it comes from those overnight sensations that go viral within minutes of hitting a social media network like YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, and the others. A person sees reports in the media about how “fast” something went popular on a social media site and assume that because it was fast, it was easy and therefore it is cheap to implement (Evans, 2010). Whereas adding a content to social media sites is easy and free, the amount of work is involved in making the content valuable to the audiences. The tough part of finding success in social media, is dedicating the resources and time to its social media strategy.
