It is said that in the United States it is getting more prevalent for more people to be getting less than six hours of sleep a night. This usually happens when patients have a competitive relationship between sleep, employment, and their lifestyle choices. It is vital to be able to give patient teaching among all ages, races, and genders in all of our socioeconomical groups. These educational practices give patients an awareness about different sleeping disorders. It also helps to motivate the patient to change, or adapt to healthier decisions. Being a nurse taking care of patients allows the ability to assess, diagnose, prevent, implement, and evaluate all the different types of the scenarios with the patient. Once the main issue can be resolved, then hitting the underlying issue becomes a priority. This could be as simple as the patient not taking care of themselves as well as they should. It is important as a nurse to be able to put a plan in place for the patient, so they can have the opportunity to be able to reach an obtainable goal. An intervention for a patient to get more sleep would be to group all cares, so then the patient can be bothered less. Also, make sure that they are comfortable and have everything they need. Sometimes it is hard the first couple of days to promote sleep with the patient because they could have anxiety, but if the nurse is patient and clear with the teaching to the patient it can make the process easier for the nurse and the
