Working In The IT Industry

Working in an organisation within the IT industry is equivalent to going for a shopping experience. Within a shopping mall, every level represents the different departments in an organisation. The aim of all the shops is to ensure profitability and efficiency which is what a future working individual should aim to achieve.
Firstly, my shopping experiences will differ by stepping into the different shop. Similarly, I’ll be getting different experiences while doing different job scopes. As I passed by Giordano, I will not enter the shop as I have perceived it as a boring and dull experience. Instead, I will shop at Cotton On which will satisfy my needs whenever I patronise them. This happened because I’m not able to step out of my comfort zone

The number of occupied cubicles represents the various workload being assigned to me at work. When every cubicle is occupied, I’ll find it difficult to hold my bladder and will be hoping for an empty cubicle. Similarly, when the workload piles up, I will begin to feel stressed and might end up making a mess at work. This will leave a bad impression in front of my superiors. The main cause of stress perception stems from perspectives. Taking a step back will allow me to find alternative solutions to my problem. According to MrGregor’s theory Y, employees are expected to be able to accept their responsibilities and be self-directed in modern days. As I’m exposed to a new environment without any plans, I will be able to step out of my comfort zone and try out new experiences. In an organisation, trying out new job scopes might bring me better satisfaction than before. During the trip, I’ll face obstacles such as language barriers whereby I can make use of the opportunity to learn the basics of a new language from the locals. Communicating with such barriers will tend to improve my communication skills.
To overcome stress perception, I’ll have to change the perspectives of viewing things. Whenever I’m stressed, I can use a score sheet with objective questions to help determine if the matter is worth the stress. It allows me to take a step back and look at the matter from a new perspective before getting stressed over it.
