The setting is a big impact in Anne Frank’s Diary because it sets a tone and mood into a room. The room came to be darker, setting it into a very depressing mood. The authors write,”The lights dim slowly to darkness. The curtain falls on the scene” (Page 703 Goodrich & Hackett). This explains that the play is about to start and it's transitioning into a new scene that's about to go back into the 1940s. This is where they hide for about 3 to 4 years when World War 2 was happening. The authors write,”When the door is opened we see that it has been concealed on the outer side by a book case attached to it” (Page 701 Goodrich & Hackett).
