A Learning Management System (LMS) is a software that aids in the delivery of Electronic Education also referred to as e-learning. This is mostly employed in the higher learning institutions all over the world. The same software is also used in the corporate world in the storage of information and automatic documenting of employer or employee records (Watson, 2007).

They looked at the factors such as the Information Systems (IS), Social Networking Technology (SNT) and WEB 2.0/3.0 and how they have influenced the learning environment. This has transformed it from how it was a few years back. For instance, both lecturers and students have employed the use of computers and the internet connectivity to be able to have synchronized classes from the comfort of their homes (Vencateah, 2003). This has created 'virtual classes and organizations’ where the lecturers can address the class and assess them while they are kilometers apart using the Learning Management Systems (Weller, 2007). At the same time, students have been able to track their performances and even do online registration of courses they want to do (Darrell, 2011). Other functions that the VLE also deals with including the development of the course syllabus of an institution. This can then be viewed by the registered students and specific staff members. It also establishes and tracks all administrative information about the faculties involved and all the activities carried out in such institutions. This contains the current information about a course in progress, its essential content and other resourceful materials such as text, audio and video copies of lecture presentations. Since technology may be criticized for denying students the face to face aspect during teaching, and the probability of one engaging in other social issues and forgetting to concentrate on studying, technology has still far many benefits to the society.
