Self-care skills mean the ability of the child to meet his/her own needs and involve behaviors and activities that eventually lead to independence(King, 2014). These skills include dressing independently, brushing teeth and hair, bathing, toileting and personal hygiene, eating and drinking by themselves. It is important to encourage children to become independent with their daily living skills. It’s a healthy and normal part of their development. In addition, supporting this independence can make their life more easier and happier in the everyday life and routines (How To Encourage Self Help Skills in Children, 2016).
