During chapter four it is very important to understand the importance of self-awareness for leadership traits. Self-awareness is not only being able to have the abilities to be aware of one’s own feelings and how those could potentially affect our decision making in certain circumstances.

Daft also mentioned the The Big Five personality dimensions. Daft mentioned Extroversion and its ability to be assertive and confident. Agreeableness is another dimension of the Big Five. Agreeableness usually involved with how good we are able to connect with others. Conscientiousness is how likely we are to being neat and structured. Finally emotional stability which is focused on keeping the negative ideas or thoughts away in order to inspire others in a better way and openness to experience. One of the reasons for this is the lack of integrity and work ethics that leaders have been presenting during this twenty first century. Chapter Six is mainly focused on presenting the differences between ethical and unethical leadership and how lack of morals can affect the values of not only the individual, but also the image of that agency, organization or company.
Daft shares that “leaders face many pressures that challenge their ability to do the right thing. The most dangerous obstacles for leaders are personal weakness and self-interest rather than full-scale corruption”(Daft,2015).
