Throughout my internship, I have seen a variety of student misbehaviors that occur on a daily basis. These problematic behaviors cause disruptions in and outside of the classroom. For instance, I had a student who decided it was her duty to tell the entire class that her computer partner was looking at girls on his computer. This caused the entire class to burst into laughter, which carried on until we reached the cafeteria. This student was reprimanded for her bad behavior. The only issue is that I didn’t reprimand her immediately after the incident occurred. This is why I believe this plan will help me determine the right ways to go about redirecting a child who is having the behavioral problem.

I have found that it is usually worst in the mornings and during instructional time. He misses out on the lesson, which causes him to struggle with the assignment that goes with it. Jordan has received a score of zero for several assignments for this nine weeks. I believe his late work and inability to concentrate in class are results of his attention seeking behavior. My goal is to deliver positive attention in ways that are rewarding to him, without disrupting the class. One indicator that the guidance and behavioral plan worked for him is seeing an increase in homework being turned in on time.
