Macon County School District wants to get away from serving the children that attend these schools’ frozen food service. They feel as though that bringing in more employees to help make food from scratch will make this a better nutritious meal for these kids. With talking to some of the kitchen staff, they have mentioned that if they buy the ingredients in bulk and make things that appeal to the kids, it will save the school money and parents and kids would be more willing to pay for school lunches. Mind you they aren’t taking into consideration the lower income families who can’t afford to feed their kids at home and get the free meals for breakfast and lunch. With the program that the school district is wanting do may take away that funding
