The school community consists of a range of students from a range of year groups working cohesively to form a safe and secure environment. Classes range from pre-primary to year six with a current enrolment of 27 students. Many of these students have siblings at the school or are siblings of former students with Kingsley having a tradition of creating close community and family ties. The parental expectations of the school is that there is a cohesiveness between students, teachers and parents, so that they can work together to ensure the student gains optimum growth and development. These policies are introduced by various parties – the government and the school. School policies are; homework policy, no-hat-no-play sun smart policy, dress code and pick up-drop off policies; reporting to parents, codes of conduct and school illness accountability.
The school dress code is in place for the safety of students. Uniforms create a positive self-image, promote student health and safety as well as promote equality. KPS has a sister school, SDN11 Jimbaran, a government primary school in Bali to which they communicate and share information using the Indonesian and English languages.
PE program: With a specialist teacher, students participate in physical education lessons that cover a variety of skills ranging from fundamental movement skills to game strategies and tactics. This program allows for students to learn about the importance of working in a team as well as coping strategies for winning and losing. KPS is known for their physical education program with the school being a member of Foothills sports association and having many students represent the school in cross country, athletics, football, soccer and cricket carnivals.
Students at educational risk (SAER) is a specialist program that KPS has in place to manage students that are identified as being at educational risk.
