Gramps says I’m a country girl at heart, and that is true”(Creech 1). This is saying that Gramps and Sal both agree that Sal is a country girl.In Walk Two Moons By Sharon Creech , Bybanks,Kentucky is important to the character Sal because of her belongings,her memories,and the trees.
Bybanks,Kentucky is important to the character Sal because of her belongings. In chapter 1 Sal supports this by saying” My Father plucked me like a weed,and took all of our belongings,that’s not true he didn’t take the chestnut tree,the willow,the maple tree,the hayloft, or the swimming hole.Sal is saying that her father took her and all her belongings. On page 112 Sal proves this by saying “I made a list of things that I like and they were all from Bybanks,the trees ,the hayloft(Creech 112). Sal is saying that the first things that come into her head that she likes are from Bybanks. In page 113 Sal says this”I confessed that I have kissed all sorts of trees(Creech 113). On page 1 she also says” No trees, this is where we are going to live”(Creech 1).She is mad because there are no trees in Euclid. Sal likes Bybanks because of the trees. The setting Bybanks is important to Sal because of her memories. She proves this by saying”She reminded me so much of my mother after she left the hospital”(Creech 224). This one of her memories reminds her of her mom, which throughout the novel her mom is very special to Sal. She also proves this on page 244 by saying”The beagle in my lap was just like moody blue”(Creech 244). Throughout the novel Sal mentions her dog moody blue several times. On page 266 she concludes my Essay by saying”I cannot wait to show Phoebe and Ben the swimming hole and the fields”(Creech 266) This shows how proud she is of her
