Safeguarding is the measure taken to protect and keep someone from potential harm it is a precautionary measure. It involves keeping the individual who is at risk of harm proactively and promoting their safety and welfare. This as well is of great importance in partnership working as both parties work to put the individual involved at the centre of it to be able to identify their holistic needs so as to improve their well being. It is about realizing potential harm and has a way to eradicate it before it escalates to a crisis. An adult who is experiencing or is at risk of abuse or neglect is an adult who needs care and support whether or not the local authority is meeting any of those needs.
