The purpose of this report is to ensure that this setting meets children and families’ needs. The Childcare Act 2006 emphasises, children’s welfare is crucial which every registered childcare provider must meet.
This setting was inspected and it was found that it has some things to improve to be able to meet the quality and standard of the early years. The setting was judged in adequate as it was found that safeguarding is not followed properly (see appendix). Inspectors found that staff need more knowledge regarding child protection and safeguarding to be able to the statutory requirements. Safeguarding of the children is important as children who cared in are vulnerable and parents put their trust in between staff and providers for

Some of the action plan on this report is to ensure all staff get appropriate knowledge and training of child protection and safeguarding. This is effective as it will contribute to the welfare of the children. It may also help staff to build their career development as well as develop confidence. However, it may affect the setting as it needs money to fund training especially when the setting has a tight budget. For this reason the setting may continue to suffer or face closure. It is effective as staff will be able understand child protection procedures in case there is a child at risk in the setting. Another action plan in this report is to improve recruitment services (see appendix). The (EYFS, 2014, p. 17) states, that all childcare providers must recruit people who are capable and well qualified to work with children. This action plan is effectivefor the protection of the children as staff will be able to meet children’s needs regarding child protection. For example, if there is any child to be at risk staff will be able to identify the needs of the child and how to support that child in order to be safe. It is also effective to be able to find out whether staff work with children are not disqualified and never committed any offence. This will also boost the provision’s performance as staff may be able to understand their job …show more content…
The local authority will be able to provide early years professionals to work together with the provision to turn the weakness into strengths. I have chosen local education authority as it leads the learning programmes for children and young people in most areas. Additionally, local authority may be able to support the provision financially if the improvement needs fund. Local authority will be able to advise the provision in the implementationof policies and procedures which will be beneficial to be able to meet the legal requirements. The early years professionals from local authority will make sure that the provision meet the statutory framework in order to achieve better grades in future. It may also refer free trainings to the setting when they are available in terms of saving money for other things. The provision may also work with parents to improve the service. I have chosen parents because the statutory guidance (2014) requires childcare providers to include parents as partnership. The setting may have to display notice in the setting regarding signing in and out of their children where everyone may be able to see and remind themselves. Alternatively, the setting may need to arrange a meeting to inform parents how important sign in and out is for the safety of their children. However, this may be hard as some parents are

Introduction Having such opportunity to be endowed with a million dollars to develop ideas on how to improve the Child Protective Services place me in a position where I am deliberating very hard on the programs or policies to implement. There are several programs and policies that are implemented in the Child Protective Services for clients and it is important to take into consideration the programs and policies by developing efficient and reliable platform that will be beneficial to the population they serve. I will certainly, invest some of the resources on the already existed programs of the Child Protective Services and research on new ideas that could help with their programs. Employing additional CPS workers and providing proper…

The NSPCC has published child protection statistics for the United Kingdom and identifies that there are over 92,000 children in care and over 50,000 identified as needing protection from abuse; these statistics are based on figures supplied by the child protection register in 2013 (NSPCC, 201). In light of this and the Children Act (1989), this law explicitly protects children and it is significant for those working with children to be aware of these issues and the teacher’s role involves being vigilant for children at risk or in risk of potential harm. In other unfortunate cases such as Victoria Climbie or Peter Connolly where safeguarding broke down immensely and professionals failed to adhere to legislations and policies and failed to protect and save the two children, who tragically passed away due to severe abuse and neglect. When working with children who may be at risk it is important to adhere to the Working Together to Safeguard Children (2015), to share information with other professionals to gain the necessary provision, ensuring the child receives the appropriate support needed. Staff members will gain a relationship with parents/carers as their child will be registering with that nursery. The practitioners will need to gather information from each child’s parents/carers to be able to find out important information such as health, allergies, disabilities, likes and dislikes. The parents/carers will also be able to find out how their child has been getting on in the setting and if they are either doing well or having difficulties in a specific area, and find out what support they can get for either them or their child. It’s very important that all the children have a strong relationship as they would be seeing a lot of each other, and together they can gain lots of skills by learning from one another. 3.3: Explain reasons for working in partnership with others.…

For example, the report showed that there were 50% less children on the child protection register since 2009 and 70% fewer referrals were made to the children's reporter (court service for children). This could be because of an early intervention before something goes terribly wrong in that particular child's life. The report also showed that staff were more confident than they were before 2009 about raising concerns about children that they were worried…

The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 aim to make sure that children are at the core of everything they do and that the children’s rights are respected and upheld in all childcare environments. This act also has measures that highlight any problems at the early stages rather than waiting until it’s too late when the child has reached breaking point. The act promotes children’s rights as it provides free school meals for children in Primary 1-3. It gives extra help to children in care so they receive the same treatment as any other child giving them an equal chance to succeed. The Scottish government believe that each child should have one consistent person in their lives that anyone can approach if they have any concerns about…

3.1 Explain why it is important to ensure children and young people are protected from harm within the work setting. As adults in positions of responsibility, acting in ‘loco parentis’, a level of awareness must used for protecting children and young people from harm, as we have taken over responsibility from their parents hike they are in our care, this relates to all contexts, from health and safety issues to those around safeguarding, internet safety and safety on school trips. Children and young people should be encouraged to protect themselves and be aware of their rights to be treated equally and fairly. We should also encouragement support them to develop confidence and a positive self-image.…
