Accommodations:
Organization by the usage of graphic organizers or copies of notes to help the students stay organized and on top of the information. Students might also be allotted more time on assignments, to allow for thoughts to be complete.
Modifications:
Reading- Students could have extra practice on simple skills using either an audiotape, or work with a partner.
Math- Students could have the opportunity to be re-taught the math skills previously taught to the whole class as a review.

Starting at the beginning of this school year students will now be graded based upon the standards-based grading system, this newly implemented system is more refined than regular systems, where the students start out at a 1 and have to work their way up to a 4 which is an accelerated learner, who has exceeded the standard. Starting this school year students, no longer receive a letter grade, and they also no longer get homework as a grade, but merely as a way to keep the knowledge flowing in their brains after the school bell rings and homework also brings us back to the two of the three R’s the school focuses on which is Responsibility and Readiness. Another major change to the grading system is that extra credit is no longer accepted as a grade. In order to implement these standards, teachers must have a few standards lists posted around the classroom to keep the students aware of what their learning is relating to, as well as writing it or posting it on the board for students to know while the lesson is being taught. In order for my classroom teacher, herself to become more educated about this grading system she went to a few classes/seminars during the summer to become more acquainted with the system itself and learn why this system is the most effective throughout the
