In 2002, a book called “StrengthsQuest” was released by Donald O. Clifton, Edward “Chip” Anderson, and Laurie A. Schreiner, in hopes it would give college students like me a simple, yet extremely helpful tool to guide them through their college experience. In this book one can find things called Signature Themes. The signature themes are given to readers after they take the “Clifton StrengthsFinder”.…

I do eventually get my work done but I typically always back end all of it. I believe that my indolence first came about when I was a little kid. I used to stall doing my homework so I wouldn’t have to do practice tests that my mom would give me. Since this is my last year in high school I have attempted to remedy my procrastination.…

Over the course of this semester in my English 1320 class I have seen a drastic change throughout my writing style. Although I still have difficulties with a few writing tasks, I believe that I have improved significantly throughout this course. I have found that with my professor’s guidance along with my own personal editing that my grades have increased. Although it is difficult to not get caught up in simply striving for a letter grade or attaining a 4.0 grade point average, I would like to believe that my main goal was different. Of course I would love to achieve those goals as well, but overall my primary goal throughout this class was to become more relaxed and comfortable in my writings, to use new strategies and proper kinds of conventions, and to truly find a way to express my passion on these papers.…

Over the past month and a half, I have adapted to my new environment that is Pacific Lutheran University (PLU), and feel much more sure of myself as I continue through this semester. Before I began my Freshman Development Seminar course with Professor Furet, I believed that this class would not be of good use to me. The reason for this was because of my beliefs in self-teaching myself to learn the basics with additional help from other sources. However, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to be. Therefore, I had to pay to get taught what I could have done on my own, at least that is what I convinced myself then and there.
