Personal Narrative: The Most Important Events In My Life

I have been on this earth for 44 years and I have had many events in my life with life altering experiences. When I was in High School I was an average student but I was a very good runner. I made Varsity my sophomore year and exceled every year after that, I would say that my main focus was running. I would wake up and think about running all day for me running came first then it was school. Back then if you were good in sports some of the teachers would over look some of your work which I took full advantage of. I had good times in all of my running events good enough that I had some colleges talk to my coaches about going to their schools. I didn’t realize that I needed to take my SAT’s, I mean I knew I just thought I wouldn’t need them …show more content…
Well that’s all it took, I guess I was bored with attending school I needed a a new challenge in life. So I enlisted into the Army and away I went into the reserves. I actually moved back and while I was in the reserves I tried to go back to school, I wasn’t running anymore so I tried to concentrate on my schooling well that didn’t last long and as I soon knew it I went Active Duty and school was an afterthought. I was stationed at a few places even went overseas for a year, after 10 years in the Army I learned a lot of things, discipline, honor, respect, integrity and the list goes on. It wasn’t until I got remarried and crossed over to the Air Force that I decided that it was time to go back to school. It was in 2004 when I realized that when I get out of the military I would need my degree this is when I started over from scratch. It was two long years but I finally received my AA degree this was a big accomplishment in my life. My wife and I got orders to Colorado and this is where we have been since 2006. As a full time Military member and raising a family I guess life in general got in the way and I put school
