Younger children look up to older kids as role models, so let 's put those older kids in a responsible position of authority. In sports in particular, younger kids will go to the high school games to watch the older kids play. They look at the high schoolers like high schoolers look at collegiate athletes. They look up to them as role models. We should put a high schooler in a position of authority on the junior high teams; this will help guide the kids through the right path. Not just any high schooler though, it has to be someone who is strong-willed, dedicated, and loves the sport more than life itself. Young children would get a lot out of this experience. Sometimes in sports your coaches are usually not in the best of shape and can’t keep up with the players physically. So if you have a student there, they can help run the drill to get more reps in. They could demonstrate the drill to the players, as well. For example, if you are in a baseball practice and you are doing batting practice after about 10 batters the coaches arm is getting weak and starting to hurt. If you have a high schooler come in and throw, he will be able to get a lot more hitters through a lot faster. Nothing against the older coaches, but he will be more accurate with his stronger arm. With being a good coach includes being a good organizer. If you would take survey of all the coaches in the world over half would have a little bit of OCD. To be a good coach you must have everything in line to make the game run more smoothly. You have to make sure all your legal papers are in order and filed correctly in case something tragic happened. A game plan has to be made as well before each game. Finally, the biggest one would be getting to the bus on time for games. Almost all high school kids are awful about being on time. With being a coach you have to be there at least thirty minutes early to make sure you have the medical kit, the water jug, and all the baseball equipment.
