Some of the greatest moments I recall are the spontaneous road trips my mother and I would take. As a child and young adult, we visited numerous aquariums, museums, and historic locations throughout California. I was able to learn about modern art, animals, technology and the California Missions. As I grew older these road trips were centered around colleges, the most notable being the University of the Pacific. I remember being about sixteen and in complete awe of the beautiful brick walls and endless green trees. The atmosphere, full of aspiration and big dreams, was infectious and hopeful. After researching and learning what amazing things the school does for neighboring communities, such as its Medicare Part D clinic, I discovered not only has UOP had a positive effect on my life, but it has also positively affected the lives of others. Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer at one of the Medicare clinics and witnessed first hand how UOP gives back to the community. There were numerous stations all geared towards educating, promoting wellness, and helping patients. The station that hit closest to home for me was the Medicare Part D and Medication Therapy Management station. As a pharmacy technician, I regularly see patients feel overwhelmed with all of their prescribed medications and the high costs that often come with them. Being able to spectate the UOP pharmacists and pharmacy students working together to try to find the best saving plan for each patient was rewarding. However, perhaps the most rewarding were seeing a patient's face after the two pharmacists I was shadowing, saved her over 900 hundred dollars. Moments such as this one are what continues to draw me to
