The Importance Of Revenge: Unjustified

Revenge is a word everyone can relate to, but is revenge justified? Although many aspects of revenge resemble the concept of justice, revenge implies a more damaging focus rather than a restorative one. When someone has been treated unjustly, it is natural to feel a need to get revenge. The thought of getting revenge on someone who has wronged us seems so appealing, but in reality it can cause too much damage. Everyone has their own opinions and way of coping with things, but vengeance is the wrong alternative. In my opinion revenge is unjustified. Some people take it too far when it comes to getting revenge. It does not matter what the consequences can be as long as they get the satisfaction of doing wrong back to those who wronged them. Even I have been in many situations where I wanted to get someone back for what they did to me. The feeling of anger just eats you up inside and every time you think of it your blood boils. It is so hard to fight against it so all you want to do is to seek revenge on those who harmed you. People can go to the extent of killing someone just to get their revenge, a good example is in the play Medea. Medea has a lust for vengeance towards her husband Jason for abandoning her for the princess. Medea has an awfully gruesome plan just to get revenge. Medea’s seek for revenge builds inside of her like a monster and even turns her into a monster. Medea kills the princess with a poisoned dress she had her sons deliver as a gift. This awful plan of killing the princess also killed the king Creon, and she does not stop there her plan progresses. Medea proceeds to the final most painful step in her plan.
