Respecting yourself is one of the most important attributes to a healthy and balanced lifestyle and is absolutely necessary for happiness in your life. Without self-compassion, one’s self-esteem and self-confidence can be knocked down by others, or even yourself, possibly leading to depression or worse. People who do not treat themselves with respect tend to tear others down leaving them with a loss of self-respect as well. Especially in this current generation, teenagers are constantly disrespecting each other for their own self-benefit believing it will make them well liked by others.
