Whilst there are no explicit references to this on the internet, in Islam education and knowledge are highly endorsed. A large part of the Islam tradition is that they should pursue as much knowledge as they can. According to a post about Islamic views about education, science and technology, “Education is a right for all individuals and the required moral duty of every capable Muslim. All able, intelligent and skilled individuals in an Islamic society are required to educate themselves not only in the basics of their religion but in necessary worldly affairs.” They are encouraged by the Qur’an to seek knowledge of the universe which surrounds them, and it is believed that if a Muslim truly has a desire to become more knowledgeable, it will have a positive effect on their faith. This shows that religion should not entirely influence what is taught in Religious Education because even for those of a certain faith, learning about other worldviews can have a positive impact on their faith.
