Critical readers have higher level of writing skills. Passive readers start reading from the beginning to the end; on the other hand, active readers understand the material on a more sphoisticated level as they constanly react while reading. Prereading helps readers to read efficiently because finding clues can focus their attention before reading. While reading, readers can mark and annotate the context to have a better understanding about the material. The first rereading let readers to get to the assumptions behind the words and to see the relationships between ideas.
