External quality assurers will monitor your centre’s processes and practice to ensure they meet the awarding organisation, qualification and regulatory requirements. However, the EQA role is not just about ensuring compliance, it’s also about supporting centre staff, and giving advice and guidance to help them improve.

Ofqual approves and regulates awarding organisations. AOs need to comply with their General Conditions of Recognition (2012 updated Nov 2014). This document sets out certain conditions which AOs must ensure their centre adhere to. Examples include managing conflicts of interest, identifying and managing risk, and dealing with malpractice.
