I would not say my mom is racist, but not knowledgeable when it comes to race. She is the person who feels uncomfortable talking about race, but is not scared to offend someone. I still am the opposite I do not mind speaking about race, but I also do not wish to hurt others feelings. My grandparents are racist, if one of her kids or grandchildren were to date or marry a color person my grandmother would disown them. My mother went through this experience as a teenager when she wanted to date beyond the color of her skin. My grandmother believes that you are allowed to be friends with colored people but nothing more. The generation that my grandma grew up in was to dislike African American, this was probably because her father, my great grandfather was associated with the Ku Klux Klan.
