High School Learning Advantages

Since I was homeschooled through high-school, the way I preferred to study was pretty simple, yet efficient. First, I would have a pre-planned general, weekly schedule of all my subjects that I needed to complete each day, but it was a flexible schedule that just described what I needed to generally do each day of each month through the whole year. After organizing my textbooks and their folders, I would find all my books and order them in my “study box” to help me stay on track with the readings and extra things I needed to go through. Since I had a lot of diverse subjects that required different learning strategies, I always tried taking notes in accordance with my learning style preference and approached each subject in a similar yet different way. However, although I study all the time, I am concerned about how well I am understanding everything since all of my classes do not allow time for me to read the materials and really memorize them in the way I am used to, but I am still trying to use parts of my learning strategies from high school to help me do well in college. Although it can be stressful not knowing exactly what to do and how to do it in the first year, I try to stay slightly “ahead” with some classes to open up some time to go study other things. With many things due for my four classes, it can be difficult to know whether or not my learning strategy is really working, but I try my best to study all day long and hopefully I will do well on all future assignments. Some of the things I can use from my old studying technique is to keep up with the material, assignments, and notes by setting aside time in my schedules and forming lists of things to complete.
