If I was awarded this scholarship it would greatly help me offset some of the costs of college. In order to pay for school I rely on student loans, and my dad takes money out of his retirement fund to pay for the remaining amount that I owe. It is difficult to ask my parents for money for tuition because I know my dad will be retiring soon, so every dollar he gives me results in him having to work longer before he can retire. If I was awarded this scholarship it would put a lot less stress on my family because they wouldn’t have come up with the money each semester.
