The internet has helped in various ways. Helping me keep in touch with family who live in other states, cities whom I haven’t seen for a very long time. Public Social Websites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat have contributed to our daily lives immensely. In today’s generation the internet is basically a part of a person’s everyday life whether we like it or not. Public social websites ought not to be considered dangerous because, people keep in touch, are aware of surroundings, and help shy people interact. First of all, social media websites must not be considered unsafe because a person can keep in touch with others. Families and friends have started to separate throughout the year. Staying updated on what is going on around the world is difficult without the help of social networking sites. The internet helps and individual by viewing the world around them. For example, Facebook has been known to keep everyone posted on absolutely everything. There is people from everywhere on their website posting on what is happening in their hometown or home country. Citizens also keep individuals informed on when there is something happening that could be a potential danger to them. Social media like twitter have been known for profiles that belong to people who don’t come out as themselves, because of cyberbullying. Cyberbullying has gotten to the point where law makers are creating anti-bulling laws to help protect individuals from being bullied. There has been issues categorizing what comments fall under cyberbullying. Individuals believe that privacy is more important than the laws that are being made (Billiteri 388). With the fear still around individuals use those pages so that they can express themselves without the fear of people knowing who they are and judging them. This has helped in cases where shy people get to finally speak their mind without their shyness being shown. Being able to finally speak for themselves helps them with their self-esteem. People all over the world can see their opinions and agree with them so that motivates them to maybe speak their minds a little better without fear. It may seem scary when there is pages that have a mysterious user around it but at the end of the day you don’t know if the person behind it has some serious issues with coming out as their real selves; only you can be the person to say if you want that person to follow you or
