Smokers realize cigarettes are deadly, taking away their public smoking areas could persuade quitting even more. For example, if a smoker sees there is no more public smoking, they might realize how dangerous cigarettes really are. Taking away public smoking areas could make smokers realize non-smokers are looking out for their safety. For example, if a smoker does not have anywhere to smoke in public, they might realize that they should not be smoking at all. Cigarette smoking causes many health problems, and some are fatal. "Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States, that is nearly once in five deaths" ("Heath Effects of Cigarette Smoking"). Smoking could be encouraged by smokers sharing cigarettes. For example, if a smoker is walking by a smoking area, they will most likely stop to smoke if they get offered a cigarette. Smoking areas could feel like home to some smokers. If someone is socializing in a smoking area, they will most likely enjoy smoking much more, and not want to quit. Smoking areas could calm down smokers and encourage smoking even more. If a worker is trying to quit smoking, but it having a bad day, they will most likely forget about quitting and go smoke in that area. Smokers persuade smoking in those areas. For example, if a smoker is trying to quit, they could get talked out of it by other smokers in that area. In public smoking areas smoking could be encouraged, that is why they should be banned. Public smoking areas should be taken away, and banned because cigarettes can cause breathing disabilities, have effects on pedestrians inhaling the smoke, and cause cancer. Cigarettes can cause second hand smoke. Cigarettes are deadly to all people. Cigarettes can take control of smokers. Cigarettes are not appealing to most pedestrians. Cigarettes can be falsely encouraged in smoking areas. A big step towards making better communities, and society 's would be banning public smoking areas
