Controversy: Pro Life Or Pro Choice?

It’s a question that you might have been asked before probably a good ten times but if you haven’t yet then I am asking you now… Are you pro life or pro choice? Don’t worry though, I am of Catholic background but I am no the Catholic church. It’s a question that is highly controversial and questionable, it could either make someone hate you or really just be agreeable with you. Now what I mean by controversial is that both answers goes against a handful of things: friends, family, society, morals, and most importantly religion. Some fetuses have such severe abnormalities that death is guaranteed before or shortly after birth, it is a cruel act to force women to carry a child for nine months in their womb with the likes of a fatal congenital disorders or even non fatal conditions such as down syndrome. Children born with down syndromes usually live with their parents all their life and need looking after all the time and their are many parents unable to care for such a severely disabled child, it takes a certain type of parents. Pro-life supporters argue that a fetus is a human being and human beings have the right to life therefore making abortion murder in which I do agree, however, in this case it is more humane to abort the fetus because if it suffers from severe abnormalities. Therefore saving the unborn child from memories of pain and it would be much better for the parents’ mental health because how would you feel if you carried a child for months--growing closer and building connection only for it to be broken because of the death before or shortly after birth. And let 's say that the child is born not with a fatal but non-fatal condition instead, that doesn’t make the child 's life any easier but harder instead because it has to live a life that isn’t even a life at all. Pro-life supporters are for anti-abortion because they want to preserve life, they believe that abortion is murder, and morally wrong which to most pro-choice supporters also think that abortion is murder and wrong. Some people are pro-choice not because they are solely supporting abortion but because they want to have the option to legally and safely terminate their fetus if there is ever a situation that unables them to want to give birth to the child, for example, inability to provide support or care to a child, severe birth defects/abnormalities, and pregnancy resulting from rape and/or incest. It is estimated that 43 million abortions occur almost every year. Can you imagine that if those abortions have not occurred added with it the current 7 billion people, how much more quickly our already limited resources now would be even more limited which are depleting at an alarming rate; in a way abortion is even helping the planet. Most pro-life supporters do not see the situations, reasoning, and benefits of having abortion as a legal option for women. This clearly states that abortion should remain legal not only in the United State but also to the rest of the world; even if it seems immoral it is often the best option for the people who have to make tough decisions. Pro-choice defends the rights and protects the people; something our forefathers have died protecting but in this case it solely affects the women’s lives and no one else’s, why
