Friday around 11am my group of 4 friends arrive to the club because we didn’t was to pay the 20 after midnight. I texted my mom I am on my way forgetting to let her know my plans till last min. drunk out of my mind I told her she doesn’t have to worry. At this point, it’s almost 3 am and the club is getting ready to close and I am asking for an extension because I was not come to my house drunk. after all, I was the star of the club or so I thought. I screamed at the top of my lungs to my friends saying, “I should of being able to stay out later since I’m turning 21 in a year so why am I being treated like a kid?” After losing the fight between my stubborn mom and my complete cognitive skill I decided to be defiant and call up my mom to give her a stern talking. 3:30 am I dialed the number it ranged but no one answered after the second ring she picked up, scared out of my mind I said “listen, mom, I’m out and I am having fun why are you blowing up my phone?” “she replied “since you are so grown, then stay out!

so, take my word for it. In my head, I’m thinking she’s mad because I came home late and drunk, but in reality, she was pissed because of that phone call. realizing I messed up I went to sleep anyway because I am too drained to even do anything at this point. With only 6 hours of sleep I had to think of something quick since an apology was meaningless I did the next best thing and handed her cash she gladly agrees and accept my “kind offering” and said I will forget about that whole mess because I had a change of heart because you are getting older and need more friend. I laugh and said do you mean it or is it the cash talking, she just laughs and left my room while I get ready for my shift to work still hung

Several years ago, when I was a brand new nurse’s aide, I had an experience with a dying patient that changed my perspective completely. I was scheduled to be a 1:1 companion with her for a 12 hour shift. The lady had received the news the day before that she most likely not live more than another week or two. And she was very much at peace with this, when talking to throughout my shift I inquired how she could be so calm and collected. She told me that death was just the next step.…

Mr. Richard, I am Violeta Motta, we talked briefly around 1pm today regarding the incident that happened today with Mercedes. I entered the cafeteria at 1pm like always, I wanted to buy turkey slices. When I started to grab my first piece of turkey with the tong that is set out to use, Mercedes told me in an angry manner, “Don't grab the turkey slices, (when I pick out turkey slices, I usually pick the smallest and thinnest piece, Mercedes doesn't like this), you don't have to make the turkey into little pieces”. I showed her the container I had my turkey in, so she could see it wasn't sliced into pieces and I told her, “look its not into little pieces, you can see. Look before you speak what isn't true.…

I contacted the friend that my daughter was spending the night at asking if it was actually true, I remember asking her why she was lying and to let me talk to Adreanna. After I realized my daughter was really dead I then became very angry and wanted to go over to the girl’s house, not sure what I wanted to do but I am sure I would have been very irrational due to my emotional state of mind. Proceeding the event some self-defeating thoughts and behaviors about the situation was that this would not have happened if I hadn’t let her spend the night at her friends, therefore it was my fault, and if I had called her before I went to bed to check on her, in my mind I thought then I would have noticed something wasn’t right and went to pick her…

I don’t really have ten reasons that I will die alone, but I read that if you put a number in your post title you get more hits. Sorry for the deception, but since you are already here please read on. I may not have ten reason that I will die alone, but I firmly believe they will find me one day, lazy-boy in the recline position, a spilled glass of scotch by my side (hope it’s the cheap stuff; hate to waste anything good), my NETFLIX queue empty, and a cat sniffing at my rotting corpse (wait, I don’t have a cat – how did he get in here?) It may not work out exactly like that, perhaps I will go quietly in my sleep with family at my side, but I’m pretty sure I won’t leave a second wife behind as a widow.…

How do life experiences shape our values? A way life experiences shape our values is when we run away from a problem and later learn something, good or bad, from it. In Tom Sawyer, Tom runs away because he thinks nobody loves him and later learns they do but in their own way. In “Abuela Invents the Zero”, Constancia runs from her grandmother and the fact she is related to her, later she learns she should care about her. An example from my life is when I did something that made my mother scared and I ran inside because I was afraid of getting yelled at, later I knew not to do something like that.…

Today, thirty-seven years ago, I died. Everyday I watch people walk past mine and my friends' monument. They are laughing, talking, and most importantly here and alive. There is one particular event that comes to mind when I think about a time when frustration led me to act deviant. At this moment in my life I was in middle school, and I was dealing with a transition. My parents recently got divorced and my mother decided that it was in the best interest of my brother and me if we moved. We went from Georgia, where we lived with my father, back to New Jersey, where the majority of my family lived. We didn’t have a place to stay, so my grandmother took us in, and we stayed with her for almost four months.…
