The Importance Of Prayer In Nicaragua

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.”-Mahatma Gandhi. This summer I spent two weeks in Nicaragua on a missions trip. It was the best trip I have ever taken and the most rewarding. I met so many people there who are now my friends. I learned so much about the importance of my life and how much I can do to help. I also learned how important prayer is. I was at first hesitant to sign up for a missions trip. I knew when I put my name down it wasn’t something that I could change my mind about at the last second. It would be final. I went to the meetings and learned about the trip. I had to raise $1600 dollars to be able to go. That is a lot to raise for someone my age. Most of the worry I had was if I would …show more content…
That was difficult for me. I do not like mornings, but it was for prayer so it was good for me. They called it intercession because it was a time to ask God to intercede and move in people's lives. Prayer was in a room in the middle of the small campus. They set rows of plastic, white lawn chairs on each side of the room with a large open space in the middle to divide men and women. After that we all sat down and Dora started praying. Whoever wanted to pray stood up and began speaking. The students had been doing it a lot longer than I so they stood up with a confidence I was jealous of. The purpose of this qualitative case study is to explore the goals of reinstating prayer and Bible reading back within the public school. During the 1960s, students were unable to utilize their freedom of speech and religion verbally to continue to pray or engage in prayer or Bible reading due to the removal of prayer and Bible reading ruled by the Engel v. Vitale petition in 1962, this ruling was found to be a practice solely inconsistent with the Establishment Clause (Holscher, 2016). In order to reinstate prayer back within the public schools, there is a need to find a method to modify all the rulings relating to the removal of prayers. Utilize methods to address the need in which offers a practical restoration of understanding, by first returning prayer back to its original functions in public schools. Orchestrate new energy by disregarding the past and offer to students the acknowledgment of their First Amendment rights to repair the damages (put out the fire) and offer a restitutive outlook.…

One of the songs that brings be back to a moment in time is “Can’t Stop The Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. This song brings be back to my senior year of high school when all my school came together to learn a fun dance that we incorporated into the lip dub that we filmed. My school did this lip dub on the day of our all school retreat. During this day we all come together as a school to worship, pray, and hear some talks from some speakers during the first part of the day. In the afternoon we eat lunch and then usually do some fun activities as a school like play games or film a lip dub like we did this year.…
