How do we determine the exact definition of popular technology? For the most part, it is almost impossible. Popular technology is something that lays on a broad spectrum, from security systems, medical fields, and our software systems we rely on in our day-to-day life. Everywhere you go, you will see some form of technology. You get in your car and push a button to roll the window down, that’s technology. I’ve relied on technology to watch television, do homework, or even talk to my friends. This makes it easy to appreciate all the things that technology has made simpler in my life. In another aspect, someone like my great-grandmother who grew up in the 1920’s and not in the world of technology, does not appreciate or see the value in what we have accomplished nor does she have any interest in learning how things like a smartphone or computer work. However, I find these things to be vital to my success in school. Technology is important to me because of the every changing world we live in. We live in a society that is becoming more and more technology based and is making people who do not rely on technology more obsolete and inefficient. We need technology in our life to continue our sense of lifestyle that we have. Technology makes our life more simple, easier to navigate, and it shows us how important what we have really is. The way the world has changed, technology has only made it a better place. Although there are cons to it, like the hefty we prices we pay for something that goes wrong in a car there will always be pros to it.
