After passing through all the emotional stops that takes place at Ellis Island, and listening to people's personal experiences with immigration, I found stop two to be my absolute favorite. The reason why I am drawn to the second stop the most, is because this is the pivotal moment for many immigrants. For instance, Lawrence Mienwald, an immigrant from Poland, recounts him and his family barely surviving the grueling and treacherous journey across the Atlantic Ocean, and upon seeing the Lady Liberty was a beacon of new hope. Along with Mr. Mienwald, most immigrants on board of the ship found themselves falling to their knees in prayer, because they had finally made it to the United States where everyone had a chance at a new life.
