Outfield is a very crucial part of softball, with center field as its dominant part. First of all, your first step is back when there is a pop fly. Then you need to find it in the air. Next you sprint diagonally towards it to get underneath it.You can always dropstep and never back pedal. Catch the ball with both hands and diagonally above your head. Don't snag at the ball, instead wait for it and then squeeze.If it’s low run and scoop it up. Always run with full speed and hustle. Remember to call mine or ball ball ball. Crophop to throw in to cut off if you can't make it in with a normal throw. Remember you have authority over the infield and outfield. Always back up any plays to second. Using all these tools can help you be a successful outfielder.
