The clanging of my sword against the armor of my enemies rings across the field of combat. Surrounded by the carnage of the battling gods, I push forward with my friend Droktarr (Gage).
To the left, the Norse goddess Freya blasts magical swords in our direction. On our right, the Hindu goddess of destruction Kali, is using one of her four arms to swing a deadly scythe towards us. Simultaneously, another of her arms is wielding a menacing trident. Death surrounds us. We dodge. We parry. We counter attack. An hour long battle ensues. We live to fight another day. Welcome to “Smite”. My community revolves around online gaming. In my spare time, when I am not doing homework or drawing, I meet up with my friends and participate in

Many of us love to play every genre. Many online videogames are built for the community that plays them and not just to make money. Examples of some of these games include “Warframe”, “Dark Souls I, II, III”, “Every indie based M.M.O. (Massive Multiplayer Online) game”, and many more. Games that are not created with the community in mind, do not have a very long shelf life. The community demands that new games provide fairness, require skill, and meet the needs of the average player while still providing a challenge to the more skilled players. For M.M.O. game companies, the community of players that support the game provides their bread and butter. Without them, the game dies, a.k.a. “doesn’t last …show more content…
I have seen worlds that are so unbelievable that it made me decide to make my own videogame. Many gamers just want a game that looks nice, has a good story, is fun, challenging, or all of the above. I am a bit different. The worlds that I have experienced in video games are so beautiful that the world we actually live in can’t begin to compare. I am inspired to eventually make a game dedicated to making the player fall head over heels for the story, the characters, the lore, and the world. There is no real way to just say what inspiration looks like, as everyone can be inspired differently. As for me, I am inspired by beautiful landscapes, fantastic stories (with voices that match the actor), and drawings that show the time and effort the artist put into

As for AW people use a device called a Neuro Linker, a small device that hangs on the neck near the collar. This device connects directly to user’s brain, and is as common as a cell phone is now. The systems send sensory input to the brain causing them to see, hear, and in some cases feel what is happening. What the show opens, it shows a classroom of students using the system to view what the teacher is writing on the board as well as take notes (Kawahara, Accel World). This is similar to what Hallow Lens and Google Glass is trying to achieve but without having hardware in front of your eyes.…

Jones uses her credibility to convince the audience she understands how online MMORPG’s operate. But before we talk about the paper the audience should know that the author is an associate professor philosophy at the University of Texas. Her doctorate and job title should only have exemplified her credibility as an author and source about this topic. The author supports her claim in her paper by stating that she has played World of Warcraft for over four years and Second life for a few months. This displays that she is more than experience in social online gaming and understands the ins and outs of both games.…

Not only has it inspired me to do that but to take a Gaming Design class in Arkansas Tech to get a degree in gaming design. I would love to be a gaming designer. I want to work with Bethesda Softworks (the creator of Fallout) and gain some experience in designing games. If I cannot do that, I would like to work with Ubisoft (Creator of Assassin’s Creed) or Telltale Games (creator of Minecraft: Story Mode). After I gain enough experience and money, I will create my own gaming design business.…

The Battle of Liberty (Confederate Victory) The date was September 17, 1861. I remember only because I wrote a letter home that very morning. I could tell early that day that things were brewing, all the men could. Video gaming, what was once a niche hobby generally only enjoyed and played by people who were seen as geeks has had a radical popularity. In 2016, the games industry has managed to become worth billions of dollars, the games themselves have become more mature and have appealed to wider audiences and communities of millions of people have formed around specific games. My personal experience with gaming comes from my time playing World of Warcraft, a massively multiplayer online role playing game where anyone can create a character and work alongside others to achieve goals like killing certain monsters. What makes World of Warcraft unique is that rather than playing through a story on your own, a large part of the game includes interaction…

She is a world-renowned designer of an alternate reality, she believes that “game designers are on a humanitarian mission — and her #1 goal in life is to see a game developer win a Nobel Peace Prize” (McGonigal pg.1). For example, the author Jane McGonigal, wrote “Be a Gamer, Save the World,” published on January 22, 2011, in the Wall Street Journal, and she argues that we all think that playing video games is a way to escape reality, but gamers could change the world. Jane McGonigal effectively uses statistics and facts, and she successfully uses ethos and logos…

Grand Theft Auto V is a video game designed by Rockstar North and was released in 2013 to critical acclaim. The game revolves around three protagonists or antagonist (depending on your views) named Franklin, Michael, and Trevor who are all on a mission to succeed in the city of saints, Los Santos, which in itself is a satirical reimagining of modern day Los Angeles. The game starts off with a bank robbery that occurs in the small city of North Yankton. Here you are introduced to Michael, Trevor, and Brad who attempt to escape a barrage of mid-western cops. However, their plan goes sour when Michael and Brad get shot and are presumed dead, forcing Trevor to retreat into the wilderness.…
