America is a breeding ground of obesity in the late turn of the century. There are contributing factors that lead to this weight gain though. First, being the doubling in sizes at restraint before the early 1980s where everyone wanted to go big portion sizes were significantly smaller than they are nowadays. Stress is also an important factor most people work two jobs in this day and age. Which makes it to where we have less time to plan meals and more time to get processed food from restaurants. The fact we never have any time leads to stress . Which releases the hormone cortisol increases belly fat. I do not think that cortisol is going to go away anytime soon.
