Fast Food Persuasive Research Paper

We live in the fattest country in the world. America has become the world’s most obese country, thirty three percent of our population is overweight. The next closest country -China- is only around five percent (Fisher). We are seen as a world power, but also something to laugh at. There have been many suggestions to try and fix this dilemma. Some of the possible options have been: limiting what the fast food industry can serve, telling parents to cook more, and teaching kids how bad food affects your body. The best solution to America’s obesity problem is requiring high school students to have a nutrition class to graduate.

The habits kids make when they are young is what they tend to do when they are older. They learn manners and many other life skills as a child. A kid that is respectful and courteous, will most likely grow up to be a well mannered person. But if kids are rude when they are young, it takes a tremendous amount of work to change that characteristic of them. Similarly, when a kid always eats fast food, then he or she will be more likely to eat fast food later in life. On the other hand, if a child eats healthy food all of the time, or at least most of the time, he or she will be more likely to eat healthy in their adult years. The only problem with this is that most kids eat junk food, not nutritious food. If we can teach all of the students to make the proper choices in the kitchen or lunch room, then we have a shot at taking down America 's fattest problem. Therefore, we need to try and embed the idea of eating healthy into the minds of students. This would make the future generation slimmer and more fit. It may even have a chance to completely eliminate the stereotype of the “fat and lazy
