It used to be, but not anymore. Consumed with personal challenges, three children in college, working two jobs seven days a week, and going to school, I convinced myself there was no time available. Fortunately, this class forced me into the position of finding ten hours to give of myself in order to graduate. It has been difficult, but profoundly enlightening. I was reminded how therapeutic it can be, and giving of oneself is good for the soul. Living in an abusive marriage for many years, self-care was non-existent. Volunteering is now part of my self-care regimen because it makes me feel good about myself as I serve others. Volunteering is but one experience at GCU affecting me personally, spiritually, and professionally. Challenged to go beyond what I thought I was capable of, these experiences have prepared me for what God has in store for me. Obediently following His call, I hope to hear the words from Matthew 25:21, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” (NIV) when I meet Him face to
