It was hard for me to condense my possessions because I had come across many things that brought back old memories and things that had a lot of sentimental value. For example, I had an abundance amount of teddy bears and almost all of them had significance or memories and I definitely could not have taken them all so I left almost all of them behind except for the few that held great worth to me. While going through my belongings, I came across some old photos taken of me when my father bought me a new bike because my old one was stolen. My father was extremely proud because it was one of the happiest days of my childhood up until I hit the curb, went airborne face first into the asphalt, then stood up with tears in my eyes, and blood gushing from my forehead. Still to this day, I have a little knot on my forehead from that crash and my dad told me he felt horrible after I crashed. Because if he did not buy that bike then I would not have crashed, so I had to keep the pictures to remind me of one of the greatest days of my childhood. However the toughest thing for me to leave behind was my cat George because he was my best friend and he always made me happy no matter what, but by me leaving him behind I knew my mother would always have a part of me …show more content…
I stared working at Firehouse Subs and genuinely enjoyed it by learning several things from the job. I had to manage my time wisely because I had homework to do, classes to attend, and try to fit a social life into the cracks of time that were available for whatever. The most important thing I learned was how to manage my money properly, which can be difficult for many young adults because money is easier to spend than it is to save but not in my case. Ever since my first paycheck, I have put ten present of my earnings in a savings account for whatever life may pass my way, but my intentions for that money is retirement or to buy a house. About a year ago, I got a different job as a waitress at a mom and pop restaurant that taught me some other skills. It was a dramatic change going from a chain restaurant to a mom and pop restaurant because chain restaurants are very structural where as mom and pop restaurants can be tremendously chaotic. Working as a waitress I had to learn patients because customers are not always the easiest to work with especially if things are not going their way. For example, I get customers all the time that will order oysters and once I bring them their plate, they say I ordered shrimp when I know for a fact that they did not but like they say the customer is always right. In addition, I had to be very outgoing in order
