“Shine! Shine!” People like to call out my name. Those who own a unique or an interesting name might also hold a special and meaningful story behind the given name. Back in 2006, at the age of five, our family lived in a small antique bottom floor condo in Sosa, one of the undeveloped cities in South Korea. The condo was constructed with the ground floor leading stairs underground. If there had been an elevator in our limited condo, the floor would have been labeled B1, instead of F1. During winter season, the basement would become cold easily. When summer emerged, the sunlight would withdraw from our house because of the high stairs in front of our door, blocking the sunlight. Additionally, I believed that God would handle my life even without such a formal and strict education. However, while attending high school, I found enjoyment through challenges. I figured, just by praying for wisdom did not mean that God would make me become a genius the next day. I was exposed to community life, leadership potential, hospitality, importance of translation, taking care of children, teaching young kids, dancing, singing, performing as my hobbies and socialization. Additionally, learning became my neighbor. I cannot quite tell you it is my best friend yet, but as I went through high school, I set my mind towards accomplishing such needs that I desired to improve on, and over this accomplishment that I will one day make a change in the world by becoming a teacher or a dermatologist.While taking honors classes I was able to recognize my potential in my study skills and organizations. My growth was reflected through my stable grades/GPA and by my determined work ethics.
