Personal Narrative: My First Grade My Teacher

Superior Essays
In first grade my teacher was Mrs.Armstrong, she would give us candy when we were good or did good deeds. She is a very kind, loving person. I would always get sent to the corner for talking too much. But then again it wasn't my fault she put me next to my best friends I just chose to seize the opportunity. All my friends and I would go and run laps at recess to burn off some of the energy we had from bottling it up in class. We all enjoyed running, especially when we would get a little foot for each five laps we did. Eventually I filled up my chain with little foots and got a big foot with my name on it and hung it outside the classroom. When we were little we thought that the little, things were the coolest, for example a water bottle that we got for filling up the chain.

Ash was my third grade teacher, she was probably my favorite teacher. She wouldn't mind us talking when she was done teaching, she was a very relaxed teacher. That class was the first class I had on the portable, we thought that we were so cool for being outside.
I ended up breaking my leg in that grade. I went sledding in Sun Valley at my grandma's house, we thought that we weren't going fast enough so we got the black demand as we called it, and my dad gave me a shove down the hill. After clinching the sled I hit a bump and flipped and flopped all over, I hit a rock on my leg, which we think was the deal breaker for my leg. I was hollering and screaming so my grandpa and dad came staggering down the hill trying not to fall. My dad carried me to the car and we drove off to the hospital. I got my gown on and they took X Rays on me. When they came back they said that it wasn't broken, so we went home and I was still crying because every little move was like sticking a knife in you leg. I had it elevated and iced for about two hours when the hospital called and said that we need to go back there. When we arrived there he said that I definitely had broken it.

The teacher at Ritenour that has influenced me the most is Mrs. Haar-Chapman or for short Mrs. HC. She influenced me the most, in my walk towards college. Before I began a strive for college, I wasn't sure I was cut out for the “college life”. She pushed me and my class as a whole to find a college and research about it, at first I thought it was a bit ridiculous, I won't deny it. She made us dive into researching about our future.…

Have you ever had someone who influenced you in the best way possible and helped you get as far as you are now? Well I had one and her name was Mrs. Martin. She taught at the school Watterson-Lake Elementary School and I, Alicia Fletcher, was the student whose life she changed. I was a tall, chubby girl who wore glasses and was so loud to everyone, but quiet when it was time to do work. I was taller than all the students in my grade which made me feel out of place, like I did not belong.…

When you reflect on your past, who you were, what you did and what you learned, it can all tell you a lot about who you are in the present moment. Writing a literacy autobiography can help someone to better understand how and why they may read and write the way that they do. A literacy autobiography will help oneself to reflect, make connections and show how their beliefs and practices came to be when it come to literacy. Mrs. Latta was my 8th grade English Teacher. She was a wonderful teacher, but an even more significant example of character. She had been teaching for almost 30 years when I had her my 8th grade year. Some teachers seem to lose interest and focus when they reach the age where retirement is right around the corner, but that was not the case with Mrs. Latta. She was the type of person who set goals for herself.…

My Path to Literacy For a very long time writing and reading was a huge struggle for me. I was one of those students who was very intelligent, but disliked reading tremendously and was often told, “You write the way you talk”. The older I grew the more I realized that my struggles with writing was due to my lack of reading. I was aware of my issues but because it became a part of my writing habits it was hard to adapt to anything different. I wanted to be like everyone else and be a good authentic and productive writer but it seemed almost impossible.…

I got pulled back to the swing and lost my balance in the air and fell down. When I reached the ground I held my right arm out and it took the full force of the fall.
